The Cairns Cityport Masterplan and Revitalisation Project was led by Matthew as a compliment to the Cairns Esplanade Competition win (Refer link: http://mw-arch.com.au/?page_id=621).
The Project Site included all the lands to the east of Kenny and Wharf Streets, fronting Chinaman’s Creek, from the northward site where the Shangri-La hotel now stands, and south to the HMAS Cairns Base.
As part of this process, Matthew led the development of a range of design and development options for each of the landholdings and creating development controls for each site by considering the road and pedestrian hierarchy, best possible building heights, setbacks, yields, solar access, integration to the existing road hierarchy, as well as the best possible future layout of buildings to be situated on each site.
