Final Year Design Studio: ‘City Life’, Milan
Following Matthews experience as a student of architecture in Milan, and experience in master planning for some of the world’s major growth centres, Dr Silvia Micheli asked Matthew to join her Design Studio for final year architecture students at University of Queensland.
The Studio will look at contemporary international master planning theory, particularly the way the master planning process defines a sense of place, and can provide improved public utility as a consequence of the designer’s vision. The process of urban renewal will be investigated in an international context, and students will be asked to consider the design and purpose of one of Milan’s major brownfield city sites.
